Private Maps

This was built as part of a school project

Private Maps is a privacy-focused alternative to Google Maps, built using OpenStreetMap data and TypeScript.

We built a custom LOD (Level of Detail) system to efficiently load and display map tiles based on zoom level and viewport.

With a emphasis on no dependencies, the project showcases how to create a functional mapping application from the ground up.

The key feature was a custom navigation and route planning system, using a extended dijkstra’s algorithm to find the fastest path between two points on the map.
