Ordjagten
Word guessing game using embeddings.

Ordjagten
Ordjagten (Danish for “The Word Hunt”) is a daily word game I built that works completely differently from typical word puzzles. Instead of guessing letters or spelling patterns, you’re trying to find words based on their meaning and how closely they relate to the secret word.
The game uses AI to understand semantic relationships between words. When you guess “ocean” and the target word is “beach”, you get a high similarity score because those concepts are related. But “ocean” and “chair” would score very low because they have nothing in common conceptually. It teaches you about language connections you might not have noticed before.
Every day at midnight there’s a new word to discover. You can see all your previous guesses ranked by how close they were, which helps you narrow in on the answer. The challenge is thinking about what words actually mean rather than just trying different letters.
What makes it interesting is the social aspect. You can add friends and see how many guesses it took them to solve the puzzle without spoiling the answer. There are leaderboards showing who’s solving puzzles the fastest, and you can play either with a Google account or completely anonymously if you prefer privacy.
I built it because most word games feel repetitive and shallow. This one rewards you for thinking about concepts and making connections between ideas. It’s also a good way to expand your vocabulary because you discover word families and relationships you hadn’t considered.
The Danish version uses language models specifically trained on Danish text, so the word relationships feel natural and culturally relevant. The interface is clean and works well on phones or desktop, with both dark and light modes.
